Cathal, Doctor Watson and Eleanor
"I'm more than sure you weren't scared! Not at all," she said with a playful wink, grabbing a book and flipping through the pages for a small moment before making a face and putting it back.
"Cathal isn't too difficult to say, mind you, but Cat may be easier to remember. But I like to pride myself on a decent memory. That's why I was so excited when it came to me!" she said, her voice bright with excitement and energy, the same as Ellie herself.
And then as Cat explained that his cat was deaf, she smiled even more. Not at the cat's disability, but at the fact he still managed to find a loving home with his owner, and managed to compensate through other means. Animals were wondrous in all of their unique and fascinating ways, and she loved the fact they were so incredibly quick to adapt in many situations.
Walking up closer then she caught the cat's eye, giving him a small wave, and touched the back of her hand just as Cathal had instructed her. The animal didn't hiss or seem angry at the prospect, so slowly she moved forward and gently began to scratch behind the animal's ears and over his neck. He was so soft! Ellie missed having a pet something fierce.
"I had a cat once," she said with a small smile, though a bit of sadness crept into her voice. "He died not long after my mum. I've thought about another, but unfortunately with the Quarantine, I never really got the chance to explore the possibility. Ah well, you win some, you lose some, right?!" she said, her smile returning and looking back up at Cathal. "He's lucky to have such a wonderful owner!"
