With Andy in his arms again, Gabe finally closed his eyes. He silently swore to himself - to them both, though Andrew would never know - that one day, they would move beyond the difficult conversations and the uncertainty. They'd made good progress already; Gabe was ready to accept Andy at his word, to let him back in. The knowledge lent a warmth to his thoughts whenever he came back around to it, often at the oddest times throughout the day. He pressed one hand to the back of Andy's neck in a gesture that was both gentle and almost possessive. Let anyone see; he didn't care, and never had. It led to the occasional argument with Benjy when they were younger, and likely would again, but Gabe was perfectly able to defend his own choices.
He held on for a few minutes, as much a comfort to himself as anything, before he ran his fingers through Andy's hair. It was a beautiful afternoon, with Scotland still clinging to summer and the sun warm where it poured down in streams of golden light. There was no sense in looking for shadows.
"Enough of that, yeah?" he asked softly. "We're okay." Gabe hadn't intended things to go the way they had, either, and he aimed to turn them around. Hogwarts held a lot of good memories for he and Andy. It wasn't tainted for them as it was for so many of the students now. "What was the plan once you found me and made sure I was in one piece?"
