Gabe's hands against his back made Andy feel like he was on solid and secure ground to the point where he realised how much of his time he spent feeling like he was walking on a tightrope until now. He wanted to stay there with Gabe so close to him, wanted to be even closer in fact, but he felt the instant the tension ran through Gabe and stilled with a sense of dread in the pit of his stomach, the certainty of the ground under him eroding again until Gabe pulled back, pulled away and Andy was on tenterhooks again.
He wasn't sure what had caused Gabe to pull away, only because there was so much that it could be. He might have regretted telling Gabe but he knew that if he went about unaware and something happened to him he'd regret that much more. His hand, both of them back in his own space and fiddling fretfully with the hem of his shirt, went out instinctively at the shatter in Gabe's voice like he could hold it together if he tried, but he held himself still and drew it back at the last moment.
He couldn't bear that expressoin though especially after the ache in Gabe's plea and he moved forward to bridge the gap that had formed between them, reaching out to take Gabe's hands and stand as close to him as he could with Gabe where he was and the raw pieces of his feelings between them. "He asked me if I was a... 'filthy little traitor'." he tried to explain. "And I told him that I was, but that I'm not anymore. Because I betrayed you-" he voice thightend but he swallowed and continued, his eyes on their entwined hands. "-and us and what we had. I thought it was the best thing, but even if it was I still, it was still a betrayal. I'm not a traitor anymore though. And I'm not going anywhere, I'm not going to leave you again no matter what happens. I don't need anything anymore, except you. I can be okay as long as you are."
