Katie had been a doll and whipped her up a guitar, but it had taken her a few days to actually get up the courage to use it. Mostly she had spent her time tuning it but it seemed like she had finally had gotten it 'perfect'. She was going to play in common room like she always did back when she was in school, but it felt odd to her. Verity wasn't sure she wanted anyone to hear her to be honest, and so she found a nook of the school she was sure no one was going to come down. Not to far away from anything that if something bad happened she couldn't run. But she was really trying to be positive that nothing bad would happen.
Settling down she pulled the guitar into her lap, plucking out a few notes before she took a long deep breath. Letting the music come to her slowly and seeing what bubbled up from her throat tonight. It had been too long since she had just given into playing to get her feelings out. So it surprised her when she started to play something she had written years ago.
"The hope is fading from my lips When I kiss you with goodbye Now when you let go of our last embrace Please don't look me in the eye Secret's out, that I just might care about you You broke me, you're leaving There's nothing I can do
I'll find a way to close the door I want to say so much more but I found you once, you're lost again Two thousand miles took what could have been
I don't want to Won't let myself I have to realize This might be This could be This is goodbye This is goodbye"
