"We don't have any cocoa or blankets," she noted with an awkward smile. On top of all that, her foot was going to be black with ink which she was resolutely ignoring because she was not going to acknowledge that she was a bloody klutz. Her eyebrows rose sharply as Anthony leaned his head on her shoulder, surprised to be the one being used as a pillow for once.
The kitten stretched up and pushed his little kitty nose against Anthony's mouth in what appeared to be an attempt at a kitty kiss before settling down. "Aw he likes you..." But there was no chance to speak further before Michael seemed to appear like a ghost from the upper levels of the tower. There was no way she could hide how her face lit up almost instantly.
"Now, now, boys. No fighting over me," she said in an almost bored tone like this happened all the time. Dorcas turned her gaze to Michael, wondering if she could turn him into a stuttering mess in front of Anthony, "Besides, Michael, you know you're the king of my heart." It might have been a slightly cruel game but turnabout was fair play, right? "No water, thank you," she gestured between the two boys, "This is good enough."
