Penny spooned some porridge into her bowl and then added some extra milk on top, stirring it all in. "I suppose there's a benefit to you turning up to learn the theory. And perhaps some of the other classes, the essay classes and things-" She didn't want to ladle on the sympathy, she was sure he could do without her pity. "I'm sure the ministry are working on it, Kevin. They wouldn't want to have to face the talk if they let a lot of people go without magic. I mean, we don't know how far it's spread outside of here.
