"Ah, it's all right..." Theodore told him. "Aches, still...with the stairs, but." He ran his fingers through his hair again.
"A week isn't...several months, though. People are...I mean, not students, the people who aren't students, I mean. They're going to be...restless. Feel trapped and...and it could be bad. I hope not, but..." He took a deep breath. He really needed to work on his speech if he was going to be doing all this talking. Jamie probably found it annoying, but was too nice to say. He was too nice to say anything negative, it seemed, and Theodore almost wanted to rile him up, to make him angry, to make him...say the things Theodore deserved to hear for hurting him the way he had. Try as he might, he couldn't recall seeing that face twisted in pain from the Cruciatus Curse, and that was almost worse. He couldn't even face what he'd done.
He pushed all of that away fiercely. "I-it's nice to see you," he stammered out, not sure why. It was the first and most honest thing that came to mind.
