Oliver & Bonnie Who: Oliver & Bonnie Where: The Leaky, then elsewhere When: Saturday night (post-dated) What: Adulty times Rating: High Incomplete
It would be a lie to say that Bonnie Dunstan never worked on a Saturday, but sometimes she wished she were less dedicated to her job. Especially when her job involved dealing with Howlers, the press and details for a memorial where she and everyone she cared about were bound to face hostile glances, at the very least. Even a night of debauchery with her friends the night before wasn't enough to relieve all the stress of the past week, which is how Bonnie found herself drinking alone at the Leaky after eleven on a Saturday. She knew she could have dragged her friends with her for another night, but she wasn't feeling much for company at the moment.
She was still in her work clothes, having decided against going home for something more comfortable. She'd shed the jacket that went with the dress, however, deciding it was too formal for the Leaky and a pint. Or, as it was turning out, several pints. Not enough to be drunk, but just enough to chase away the headache and shoulder tension. Although, she could think of several things even more effective than alcohol to chase away tension. At least, this kind of tension.
Someone said her name, and she smiled when she saw who it was. Oliver Wood. This night was looking better already. "Hi, Ollie. Fancy seeing you here. Care to join me?"
