"Don't be." There was nothing to be sorry for, as far as she was concerned. Sure, Draco could have been around more, even after losing his magic. They had all worshiped the ground he walked on, Draco and Pansy both, and he had all but disappeared over night. But she couldn't blame him for that, not really.
When he questioned her about the mark, Daphne looked down and tucked her arm out of the way, so neither of them could see the blemish on her skin. "I didn't- Stephen-" How did she explain this? She'd told the Aurors but she still thought they would think her crazy. And they hadn't done anything for her except hide her away for a few days. They hadn't even questioned her when she decided to go right back to Stephen, despite how scared she had been.
"Just a few weeks ago," she finally settled on. "No one else could possibly want me if they saw it." Those were the words that had been fed to her.
