Charlie was expecting to hear his mother's voice from the fireplace, despite his insistence that she leave him to sleep it off. So Penny speaking instead made him sit bolt upright.

He should've tidied he realised. It wasn't messy per say, but simply lived in. There was a thoroughly loved copy of Fantastic Beasts on the coffee table as well as a couple of mugs with dregs of tea at the bottom. The walls were covered in maps of the dragon reserve in Romania and now also a couple of Loch Ness. A little Kelpie silhouette moved across the lake's shape, following the path of the real Nessie.
