Ellie gave a giggle at his promises of piggy back rides and sugar. It was like they were kids again for a slight moment, and the world outside wasn't a big steaming pile of shit. It was... nice. "I know I do, Ernie. It's why I'm still here. Can't leave you to your own devices, now can I?" she asked softly, smiling for just a slight moment.
At his agreement, something inside Ellie snapped. Her resolve. Her little bit of control she had. And even though she knew that it was the worst idea she had ever had, she didn't care. Because she wanted to feel something good, something she enjoyed, even if it was fleeting. "Good. Then I feel less bad about this," she said with resolve, wrapping her arms around his shoulders and bringing his lips to hers again, this time, much more demanding and fiery. She was the slightest bit desperate, she wouldn't lie. The wine in her head and the warmth of having another person so close, a person she cared about so much, drove her onward.
