Benjy was pretty sure that Percy Weasley was personally trying to work him to death, to make him miserable. He deserved it, of course, Benjy knew well enough that Penny AND Oliver were both friends with the new Minister of Magic. But that didn't mean that Benjy was going to let Percy think he was winning. Benjy would work with a smile on his face, no matter what Percy threw at him. And of course when he got home, Rose and Ava were there. While Rose was aware enough of the things going on in his life, he really didn't want to bring all of his negative... things into the flat and hurt them.
So he kept it separate. Time alone outside of the flat. He hadn't seen Penny or Oliver since the night he'd gotten drunk and spent the night at Oliver's. And he didn't have the right to be miserable about it since he was the one who was hurting everyone.
But he wouldn't hurt Rose or Ava. Simple.
After spending a few minutes outside of his front door, leaning against the wall, taking a moment to himself for the first time that day, Benjy could hear muffled singing coming from inside of the flat. When he opened the door, he smiled when he spotted the source. "She's gotten bigger today," he teased, staying far enough away to give them some semblance of privacy while Ava fed.
