HOLIDAY HOLD HALTED
By L Elkins
The Department of International Co-operation have today announced an end to the international travel bans on Witches and Wizards in the United Kingdom, with an exclusion of those who were inside the quarantine at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
After discovery of the vaccine for the Squib Virus and subsequent removal of the virus quarantine, travel restrictions were put in place to prevent a possible resurgence of the virus spreading into foreign countries.
The Department of International Co-operation has been working tirelessly with Magical Departments across the world to have the ban lifted. It was finally decided that all Witches and Wizards that were not part of the virus quarantine last year will be free to leave the country, should they want to.
"We know a fair few holidays had to be cancelled at short notice," Said a Spokeswitch for the Ministry, "But it was essential that witches and wizards across the world were convinced that we no longer held any risk of infection or magic loss!"
Along with travel, export restrictions have also been lifted to allow better freedom of magical import and export. Gringotts Goblins have predicted a boost to the U.K. wizarding economy in the next few weeks.
CHARM CONTENTION
BY A. BELL
The Wizengamot have added memory charms to an ongoing discussion of Charm Control.
If the legislation is drawn up and approved by the new Minister for Magic in September, memory modification charms could be reclassified as Unforgiveable. As a result, using memory modifying charms would result in longer sentences in Azkaban.
Debate will include if Confuddlement Charms would also be considered, though these charms often wear off without danger after a few days. Love Potions may also be included due to the classification of mind muddler.
The discussion of temporary spells being Unforgivable has led to discourse amid the Wizengamot.
