While Daphne had tried her best to convince Pansy that she hadn't had to ask for permission to visit, that was exactly what she had had to do. In the past two weeks, her entire life had been flipped upside down and inside out and no one knew. No one could know the person Stephen had become, how he had started to exercise his rights over Daphne. How she was nothing more than a possession to be used when Stephen felt like it.
She was terrified of the man she married, how he used her and touched her. She was scared of how she allowed him to treat her and even more so of the hatred she saw in his eyes. How he looked like he could hurt her more than he already did when he forced himself on her at night.
