There was a lot hidden behind that yeah, but Pansy had had years of deciphering Greg's less than verbose manner of speaking. "You're worried about your mother." It was an admirable trait, family loyalty, and one Pansy admired about Greg. And taking care of his worries was getting her mind off her own, so it was a welcome distraction.
"I was thinking, Nattie won't have much to do while we're at school. If it's something you'd like, I could have her stay here and care for your mother." It would be preferable to sending Nattie back to an empty manor house. Safer for the House Elf as well.
As Pansy had nothing against the French, she didn't quite understand Greg's objection to Beauxbatons. She'd been coaching Gertie on her French, which was quite good for twelve, and thought the girl would do quite well there. What she did understand, however, was Greg's worry over his sister being so far away. And that, unfortunately, was not something she could alleviate. "She'll do okay. She'll have her little friends with her."
She'd thought she'd been hiding how very not okay she was, but trust Greg to see through it. He was remarkably adept sometimes, or maybe her masks weren't quite as tight as she wanted. She tried to reassure him, even nod her head, but in the end she just didn't have the energy. "Not really."
