Anthony jumped just a little as his book was pushed further into his hands. He hadn't heard the footsteps or seen the approach of the little black furred creature. "Hey there buddy." He knew what the creature was, years of working part time over the summers in the Menagerie had taught him a thing or two.
"Nope, no gold. Nothing shiny." He couldn't help but close the book and give his attention to the animal. They made good pets, especially with people they had bonded to, but they weren't indoor creatures. Anthony had no qualms about going in to give the creature a pet or two and letting it sniff at him to it's hearts desire. "Got a name there, buddy?"
