Anthony leaned in and wrapped Kevin's mother in a big hug, all smiles. The flowers were in her hands when he pulled away to the sound of Kevin's voice. His smile then almost broke his face, his cheeks actually hurt. It felt like so long since he had last seen his friend, longer than a year, but then, it also felt like he had just seen Kevin last week. It was weird, to say the least.
"He's right. I'm only in it for the cookies." He turned his smile back on Rachel before moving past her and into the house. He didn't need permission, he was Anthony Goldstein and that was Kevin Entwistle and something like being invited in wasn't going to keep them apart. They were two parts of a whole and sometimes it seemed even Rachel saw that in the boys. Anthony's own mum saw it too, between him and Kevin, and again with Ioan. And obviously Emory; they were literally created from the same cell split into two.
Once past Rachel, Anthony's smile faltered for only a minute. He didn't know if he could do another night like the one before, where he had listened to Justin, told his own story about the previous year. It had been a hard night. He would do it if Kevin needed him to though. "You want cookies too, don't even try to lie." He wrapped his friend into a hug, burying his face into Kevin's neck. "You aren't allowed to leave again."
