Who: Augustus Rookwood What: breaking shit Rating: breaky? Status: complete
Augustus didn't particularly like doing Lestrange's bidding, but he needed to get in the man's confidence and after all, he only wanted him to break things, not people. He didn't quite know what equipment Jordan used to broadcast from the dome, but he reckoned it would break just fine.
One of Augustus' best skills was skulking about, and he employed it liberally until he figured out what classroom Jordan was using as his base of operations. Jordan wasn't being secretive about it, because why would he be? Why would anyone find a broadcast a threat? Augustus wasn't quite sure why Lestrange did, but be that as it may, once Augustus knew where Jordan was keeping the equipment, it was only a matter of waiting for the perfect moment.
Augustus hoped Lestrange wouldn't be too angry that Jordan had managed to get one broadcast out, because there had simply been no opportunity to get to the equipment before then. Jordan had been in and out at all hours. Until the broadcast was finished. Augustus waited for everyone to leave, figuring that now he had at least an hour or so to wreak havoc.
He waited until everyone was gone, giving them an extra half an hour or so in case someone forgot something, then he went in. The door wasn't even locked! That went well with Augustus' plan. He planned on not using any magic at all, just in case there was an investigation and his magic might be detected. He doubted the overworked Aurors would have time for such a thing (though they seemed to have plenty of time for drinking) but there was no use taking chances. He'd nicked a beater's bat from the quidditch equipment room, and he figured that would do the job.
He entered the room, looking around, but there was no one there. He identified anything that looked like equipment and set to work, swinging the bat with precision and strength. The plastic and glass broke in a very satisfying manner, and Augustus was actually enjoying himself. He was somewhat disappointed when everything in sight was smashed to bits.
He stood surveying his work, and smiled as he shrunk the bat back down and hid it in his robes. A quick listen in the corridor told him no one was approaching, so he disappeared down the hallway, leaving the room behind.
