"Yeah... you might certainly be right, Sals," she said, a small smile coming to her lips. And honestly, that might have been part of it, but deep down Ellie knew the other part of it was that ever since her parents had passed, her motivation had crashed and burned. Who did she really have to make proud anymore? To impress? It was pathetic, but true...
But instead of focusing on all that negativity, she fed off of her friend's excitement, her joy in the situation. And she had every right to be happy! "Sally, I'm so happy for you. You have no idea," she said softly, putting her arm around Sally and pressing her head into her shoulder. "If anyone deserves to be happy, it's you! And hey, people change. And well..." she titled her head back and forth for a moment before finishing, "Sexuality isn't exactly the easiest thing to peg down. There are exceptions to every rule, and if Harold is the person who makes you happy, that's all that matters!" Picking up a treat then and biting down, she handed one to Sally too.
