Charlie started and looked up to see Penny standing beside him. He hadn't even heard her walking up to him, his mind so preoccupied. It wasn't good, he needed to be alert in times like this. "Hey Pen," He said, offering her a very forced smile that faded almost instantly back to his trouble frown.
He wanted to ask her what she was doing outside in her condition, but having grown up with his mother being pregnant several times and having had her snap at Arthur any time he'd mentioned something similar; Charlie was more than happy to just let Penny get on with whatever made her comfortably and not snappy!
He scooted over slightly, but there wasn't enough space to really offer anything to her. Plus her warmth was quite nice, Merlin knew it was still cold even without the snow. He'd barely noticed it, but with her pressed against his side he was suddenly conscious of how much warmer she was compared to sitting alone. "It's them," He moved his gaze back to the Saint Bernard-sized spiders, "They... I've got to put them down." Charlie sighed and his shoulders slumped visibly.
