"I've infused this," Lyra turned in her chair to point to the mouse with the hex already placed on it. "Mouse with the same curse that Finnigan was under. Or as close to it as I could come." On the scruff of it's neck was a rune very similar to the one on Seamus' neck. "I took notes on Finnigans and replicated as close to it as I could. Thankfully, I'm not a sadistic monster. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the magic just right." Bits and pieces of the truth were all that really mattered.
"So far, I haven't said the word that activates the spell inside of it. But attempts to withdraw the magic and discard it have proved... Hard, to say the least." She'd been able to draw out some of the magic, but with no where to place it that could actually hold magic of that nature, she'd had little success. "I have tried different options, such as glass and plastic jars. A stuffed animal that was left behind in the hospital wing."
When Rhamnus suggested another host, another living being, Lyra tapped at her lip and jotted down something on a new blank piece of paper. "I suppose that could be considered. However, it would just be moving the problem and not destroying it." Although, the animal-centric Weasley had a handful of acromantulas that had seen one of their own being murdered by a human....
