Who: Parvati Patil
What: Full moon, First Change
Where: Cottage in the Village
When: Evening, Jan 31st
Rating: Medium, some swearing and graphic wordage for the change
Those that the beast is looking for
Listen in awe and you'll hear him
Parvati was pacing, the shutters had been drawn in the small house and they had cast wards on practically the whole place. There was nothing but the cottage for her until the next morning. Really she could get away with just dealing with the what she was feeling. The itch and the fire she swore was under her skin. Is this really what Lavender dealt with, every month. Or was it more...there felt like there was more because Parvati knew there was a release to it.
Her bones ached as she tried to focus on shuffling her cards, tried to focus on something that wasn't the urge building inside of her to try to break free. To let the wolf inside out and just forget every human problem. This primal thought in her head telling her for one night she didn't have to worry about being stuck, the worry of Death Eaters or the Virus. Even Greyback himself who was taunting her through the journals. She shuffled harder and faster until her fingers tangled over themselves and her cards scattered.
She stared down at them, the ones that were upright and looking back at her.
The Moon, The Devil who was turned upside down, and the Chariot.
Fear, breaking free of bonds, and control.
Parvati wanted to scream, no one was going to hear her save for whatever Auror they put to watch her. So she just did, she screamed out in anger.
"Yes I'm scared! Of course, I am bloody scared! But this isn't freedom you stupid bloody fucking pieces of paper! You have no idea how this feels. I can't control this. I can't do anything!"
Lashing out, she pushed them further away from her and one more found the edge of her nail.
Strength, with the woman and the lion. She always saw this card as the Gryffindor card. Find her strength. It was there. But how did it tie in what was she not seeing. What were they trying to tell her, she looked where they landed, where they connected to one another. Turning over others between them that linked them. She must have looked like a mad woman surrounded by cards as she turned them over with shaky hands. But she saw it, she saw the answers she was looking for.
She was fearful, but this was a change it was new. She had the strength to control it. She had the strength to break free. From the physical torture, she was putting herself through. And maybe even from Fenris himself. He may have been pack, she could feel that in her gut. But her feelings for Lavender, they were stronger. Reaching for her journal she scribbled something not bothering to ward it. Let the world see she didn't care as she tossed it to the ground.
Slowly she stood and walked towards the window, she could see the light from the moon peeking through the cracks. It wasn't enough to trigger the change just enough that she felt her skin tingle. Throwing them open she stared up at it, peeking through the trees of the forest and for a moment let it wash over her. The moon, the moon was not his, it was hers.
"Chandra watch over me..." Was all she could get out before she felt the pain explode, bones cracking and breaking. Her skin changing, fur growing as she let out a pained scream and feel to her knees. She could feel her nails growing as she scratched at the wood of the floor and soon she heard a growl. Taking a moment to realize it had come from her own throat. Pain yes, but she wasn't going to fear it, she didn't let the fear settle in. Bone and sinew unraveling and knitting itself back together, to shape her for this time being into something new. Something different. Something stronger.
It felt worse then when her leg had been cut. But she screamed and growled through the pain until it was over. Hunched over herself, as the moon hit her and she was surrounded by ink and tarot cards. Breathing heavily before her head tossed back and she let out a howl that shook the walls. She wanted freedom, she would have her freedom. Maybe not now. But soon.
The potion meant she still had her mind, it was time to use it...to see what she could do with this change. Her prison becoming her playground as she tore through it to test her limits. Next time would be different.
