Timothy let Theodore look, as much as it sometimes bothered him to make direct eye contact. His expression was as open and accepting as his comment had been, as his body language was and as he truly felt. There was something scarred about Theo beyond his arm and Timothy knew what that could feel like; he wanted to ease some of the darkness that he thought might have caused the halts in Theo's speech and the way he hid behind his hair, as though Theo's shyness was a reflection of Timothy's own, reserved and withdrawn instead of anxious and manic.
He'd decided even before that moment that he was determined to be Theo's friend as much as Theo would let him.
