Timothy was pleased that Theo hadn't taken offense to his comment, although it honestly wouldn't have occurred to him that it could have been taken like that unless Theo had. He was interested about this tarot thing, a function that he'd never been involved in before. He didn't press on the mention of family though; it was a sore point for him and he wasn't about to go poking around anyone else's family in case the poking came back around to him.
He nodded that he understood what Theo was saying, picking up and putting down items as Theo actually shopped. He noticed the scar on Theo's arm and it sent a cold bolt through his heart even though he barely knew the boy. Theo had been kind to him and the scar, however it had appeared, had no place on Theo's body but certainly wasn't something that Theo had to be ashamed of. He showed this by smiling and reaching out to take hold of the end of a glove that Theo was still holding. "They look nice on you." he said softly, his tone encouraging and his comment saying much more than a simple compliment.
