Fergus knew the best way to get Seamus' attention was to buy him a drink. He'd come prepared. He'd cashed out most of his savings to bring with him, not to mention a few bottles of the good stuff for his own personal use. He didn't know how long he'd be stuck under there, and it was better to be safe than sorry.
Fergus had bartended for Aberforth for a few months the summer after he graduated. He always suspected that it was more like a pity job than a real job, but the cranky old geezer was kind in his way. Fergus never drank at the Broomsticks anymore. He found himself a nice comfy barstool and ordered a pint and a firewhiskey. He didn't feel compelled to wait for Seamus. The place wasn't as crowded as he might have expected, but it was early still.
