Ten days. She had had her new pet for ten days and already he was growing boring. She wanted something new, a little more excitement. She wanted to release him back into the world and see what kind of terror he would reign down on the people around him.
Alecto had spent days trying to condition him, convince him that this was the Thomas kids fault, that he had signed over Seamus' life. The bond seemed to be too strong for the lie though. It came down to her just beating him. She starved him for ten days, only allowing water when it became necessary for survival. She had marked his entire body with her knife as well as spells. He was beautifully bruised on his face and arms and chest. His stomach was covered in runes. He was a masterpiece. But the best, out of everything she had done, was the rune at the base of his neck, infused with dark magic. A single word whispered by anyone would activate it.
This was what she wanted. See how long it would take before his own friends turned against him, or figured out what she had done to him. Although, he wouldn't be able to tell anyone that she had done anything to him. It was all his fault, he had done this to himself. And he had, with that biting tongue he had when he first awoke in her forest.
To move him this time, unlike the previous times she had done so, Alecto did not knock Seamus unconscious. She silenced him though, so he wouldn't alert anyone to their presence before she wanted him too. It was the dead of night and too much noise would be heard. No, she let him crawl behind her. Sometimes nearly dragging him. She'd created a rope, spelled around his neck, like a good puppy. He could stand again when they reached the point she would allow him free, but she had a few more parting gifts for him before she allowed him to run off.
Every stumble was met with a choking tug of the rope around his throat as he trailed behind Alecto on his hands and knees. Seamus Finnigan would've stood up and pulled the rope from her hands, thrown himself at her and tried to kill her so he could escape. He didn't feel like Seamus anymore. He didn't feel like anyone. His body ached and stung and screamed at every move. The stabbing hunger ebbed and flowed through his belly. The cold bit at his fingertips as he crawled through the leaves and mud.
How long had she had him? He didn't know. Days? Years? How long had he managed to keep up hope that his friends would come and save him? He'd told her so confidently to her face every time she'd woken him in a different part of the forest. His friends would come. They would. They would kill her, they would save him. They would.
But they didn't.
His arms gave out, his whole body weak, and he landed heavily on the ground, his groan suppressed by the spell. He couldn't. He couldn't.
Lia. Li...
When he slipped, Alecto stopped when tugging at the rope didn't work. They were about a half mile from the edge of the forest now. It was good enough. It would be light out in just a few hours, but she still had some time to spare. She could spend a minute with her pet. Alecto sat beside him, cradling his head in her lap and carding fingers through his hair. "You'll be home soon, little one. Not much longer now, puppy."
Despite being bored of him, these last few minutes were going to be critical. She would want him back eventually, she knew that much. But still, she was bored and she wanted the next chapter to begin. She wanted to see, to hear about, the things he did once he was inside the walls of the school. See how his time with her had affected him.
"Shh, puppy. Just a few more minutes," she whispered, licking at some dried blood on his cheek. She hadn't cleaned him in the ten days she had had him. There was dried blood everywhere. He looked glorious. She brushed the hair back from his face again before reaching for her wand. A wicked smile spread across her face when she released him. "Lucem intra praecordia inflammata." The spell would do damage. It would feel like he was burning from the inside out. She didn't take the silencing spell off of him yet though. Not yet. Even as much as she wanted to hear the screams, she almost wanted to taste them, taking the silencing spell off would only bring the inhabitants of the castle down on her. She couldn't have that.
Alecto brushed her fingers down his cheeks again, leaning in to do what she wanted. She wanted to drink in his pain and taste it. Her lips pressed against his, though not in any sexual way. She hadn't seen him in a sexual way the whole time she had had him. He was a pet, a toy. But he tasted delicious. His silent screams were a balm to her frayed nerves that she would be caught, that she wouldn't be able to turn and run far enough before she released the silencing spell.
"Imperio." The wand was pointed at his forehead when the word was spoken. "Stand. Go back to Hogwarts, puppy. I'll see you soon." She released him to go, watching until he crossed the border of the forest. She let the silencing spell go then and retreated back to her cave.
