"I'm glad I could do something to help," he said softly, letting the pad go so it rested fully on Michael's back. Stephen was about to turn and leave, figuring he didn't wish to out stay his welcome, but it had been so long since he'd spent time with him, and Stephen didn't realise how much of a gap in his life not having Michael had been until he felt his company again. He didn't want to leave.
"I know it doesn't really mean anything but I'm sorry about your magic," Stephen said, "I wish I could do something more to help." He sat down on the bed next to Michael's and watched the heat pad. He'd tested it enough, but he wanted to make sure there was nothing wrong with it if he was going to leave it with his friend. That was the excuse at least.
