Michael held out his hands to receive his gift, not pulling back as Stephen's hands closed around his own.
"Oh!" he gasped as the bag began to heat up, almost purring in his hands. "Oh, it's amazing!" Michael whispered, Stephen's hands leaving his own. "It's- it's incredible. It's the best present- it's wonderful, Stephen." He looked up, looking across the room. He gave the sack another squeeze and immediately it calmed down again, staying warm, but it was just residual. "It really will help. It will. Thank you. Will you?" he held it out to Stephen again, waiting for him to take it. "Could you put it on my back, please? I don't think I'll be able to settle it properly. It's an awkward angle."
Michael turned stiffly onto his stomach again, rolling up the back of his t-shirt to expose the sore lower back area.
