Perhaps Alicia's suggestion of joining whatever Alumni team was being set up had been rattling around in Cassius' head a little too much, or perhaps he was just ridiculously bored already, but either way, he found himself heading towards the pitch in the early hours of the morning. The air was crisp, clean, just the way he liked it and he was itching to get back on a broom. It had been quite a while, and it was safe to say he hadn't thought to bring his own, but that didn't stop him from rummaging around in the Quidditch storage closet and finding an older, somewhat beat up Nimbus 2000. It seemed like too good of a broom to be stashed on Hogwarts grounds, but the poor broom had been beaten to shit through too many uses and mishandling by younger years. It probably wouldn't be the best, or very fast, but it would do.
He was exiting the small building when he caught sight of a familiar face, to say the least. And though he wasn't the most social of individuals, he couldn't help the small smile that pulled at the corner's of his lips. Cass had always liked Adrian. He was a good man, and though his parents were just as caught up in the nonsense of Pureblood ideals as Cassius' own, Adrian always seemed more level headed in that regard. It was refreshing.
"Fancy seeing you here," he greeted, once the other man was in earshot. It had been a few years since they had seen each other, and they had traveled much different paths, but Cass hoped the other man remembered him. It hadn't been that long, after all.
