"Er-" Charlie was hit with a dilemma. Did he tell Penny that it was more than likely the attack had been intentional? That there were absolutely no signs that whatever had attacked him had done it for food? He looked at her face out of the corner of his eye. No, he didn't want to scare her, or upset her. She was far too important to him to give her that unnecessary burden.
"That's nature I guess. There...wasn't anything we could've done differently," He said, trying to sound upset but resigned about it. Sometimes little lies were just necessary.
