Penny hadn't even thought about how this could have all been so different. She hadn't thought about what would happen if she hadn't have been here, because of course she was probably always going to be here. She'd thought about Edgar, wondering how he was doing, if he was looking after himself, but then there were a lot of people still in Hogsmeade who would feed him if they had to.
She looked around the room, impressed with the way they had made their home. It was cosy, and Penny approved. There was no sign of Gabe for now, but it was hardly like Penny was looking for him. She turned towards his room, rebalancing the plates and food so that she could open the door.
Penny felt a warmth roll through her at the sight of Benjy's room, his bed, everything. She put the plates of cookies down on the bed and settled down, too, kicking off her shoes and crossing her legs beneath her, The flasks of tea she put on the table beside the bed, beaming, waiting for Benjy to join her.
