Kat & Open
Even though Alex's death still troubled her, Kat made the effort to dress up and be around everyone else. She'd decided to dress up as the Greek goddess Athena, who was one of her favourites from Greek mythology.
She quickly made her way to the punch table and grabbed a glass as her eyes wandered over those in attendance. She saw a few people she recognized in their costumes and others she didn't. She was sure everyone who knew her would know who she was. She didn't like hiding her face - that was more of something her grandfather would do in wearing his Death Eater mask.
Kat quickly shook her head and cleared her head of those thoughts. Tonight was supposed to be fun and that was something she was in desperate need of. She'd been wrapped up in her studies for far too long now.
As she watched the dancers, she started to move out of the way to get a better view, but as she did she almost ran into someone. Again. This had become a common occurrence lately and Kat didn't like it. She needed to be more mindful of her surroundings.
"My apologies," she said. "I didn't see you there."
