Harry felt bad about mentioning it now. He hadn't intended to make her feel uncomfortable. "No, no. Don't be sorry," he said, leading the way across the courtyard. "It's fine. I just... thought I should sort of think about it today? So much has happened, and it was so long ago now. I didn't want it to get lost in the midst of all the other awful things everyone's been through."
It was only a few months ago that he'd seen his parents with the resurrection stone. It had seemed so very real. He wished he could see them again, but he knew he would never see them again. Maybe that was what made him particularly concerned about it this year. Also, the thought of going to a social event where everyone was there pairing off and he had to pretend that he was single was vaguely annoying.
