This is because this tiny town is a supernatural dead-zone, and host to some very powerful, potent magic of its own. Within the borders of Grey Haven, all supernaturals are rendered mundane... and they become completely human. In these modern times, the town serves many functions: a neutral ground for warring factions to meet, a sanctuary for the hunted, a hiding place for fugitives, or simply a place to break a terrible curse or enchantment. To this day, its original function is still its most common: allowing supernatural creatures who are tired of the secrecy and the struggle a peaceful haven to live out a mortal life and eventually have a natural death, something many supernaturals are denied.
