RULES FAQ CAST TAKEN HOLDS WANTED APPLYOver two decades ago something extraordinary happened: the world stopped needing to be saved. No death rays, no alien invasions, no rampaging evil robots tearing up NYC. Justice and goodness, it seemed, had finally prevailed. With supervillains and crime on the decline, the former heroes still struggled to help the public, yet more and more people stopped wanting to be saved.
In the United States, lawsuits against caped crusaders surged until the government was finally forced to intervene: no masks, no powers, and no heroics. Through the government-funded MRP (Metahuman Rehabilitation Program), thousands of supers were shuffled into early retirement and hidden in witness protection programs.
Armed with desk jobs and civilian identities, these aging heroes raised the next generation with the intention of building ordinary, anonymous lives for their children. Or as ordinary as some could ever hope for.
The year is 2035, and the age of superheroes is far from over.

We accept characters from superhero comics (Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, WildStorm, etc.), TV shows, movies, and so on!

For as long as anyone can remember, the City has always been one of the largest metropolitan centers in the world. It has had its share of glory and decline, but none so great as the age following the founding of OzCorp. Michael Ozma was no man of magic, but he might as well have been, for the technological wonders he wrought.
Today, however, the Gilded Age is long past. OzCorp, now led by Ozma's three daughters, has become corrupt, and the City has fallen from its glory days. Crime and drugs now rule the streets, though some aristocrats continue to live above it all.
Inspired by folk-lore and fairy-tales, Not So Far Away is a unique Role-Playing World that brings characters from fairytale, folklore, and mythology from around the world together into an ever-expanding universe. |
