Name: Nikolaos Alexis Roussos Age: 23 Birthday: April 6, 1986 Title: The Euro-Royal Residence: Highcliff, in a mansion called Alexandria Sexuality: Bisexual Played By: Nicolau Gordeef
PHYSICAL APPEARANCE:
Nicky Roussos is average height, at 5' 9 1/2”. He has the brown eyes, wavy black hair, and creamy olive skin characteristic of his Mediterranean roots, and a body he takes pride in, mainly because it's his body. It's a little skinny, but Nick thinks it could be the best body possible if he only put some work into it. He's just never gotten around to putting any work into it.
He projects an air of confidence that comes off to some people as a natural sexiness, and to others as an off-putting cockiness. Nicky thinks of himself as regal, and he walks with long strides and his head up.
He clothes himself in fabrics befitting royalty. Only butter-soft natural fibers and thread counts in the triple digits are worthy to touch his skin. He also enjoys the weight of 24k gold, platinum, diamonds, sapphires, and opals. He doesn't overdo it on the jewelry, but he's rarely seen without. He isn't picky about his clothing, as long as it fits and feels good on his skin. He cannot stand the feeling of ill-fitting clothes, so everything he owns is tailored to his body, even his jeans.
BACKGROUND:
Nicky is the only son of Alexandros Roussos, and the only grandson of Matthias Roussos, a wealthy Greek who moved to Picturesque after a financial scandal rocked his social position in the old country. Matthias took to the beaches of Neptune Key because they reminded him of the ones on his native Crete, and because of his long history of wealth and blue blood, easily integrated himself with the old money Americans populating the south shore.
The Roussos family was descended directly from old royal lines in Greece and were originally landowners, but their survival as a wealthy family was due to their ability to change with the times. They got into shipping and manufacturing around the turn of the last century, and Matthias liquidated his assets before his escape to make a fresh start in Picturesque. What he left to his son was either a business sense or paranoia that still serves the Roussos family well. Nicky's father controls a port in Miami, owns several textile factories in the Dominican Republic, and keeps all of his money in offshore accounts.
From the very beginning, Nicky was educated about his family history, which supposedly dates all the way back to Alexander the Great. The family crest is displayed prominently in the house's entry and in Alexandros' office, and a family tree is painstakingly kept in a safe deposit box and added to as needed. Nicky grew up proud of his heritage and came to identify with the historical Alexander.
Nicky enjoyed the childhood of a prince, with the best private education money and connections could buy. He was smart but lazy, and infuriated his teachers with his refusal to do the work. Still, his high test scores kept him in the top quarter of his class, and he went on to get a degree in Business Administration and Classical Languages from Rochester University. Business was chosen for him, but Ancient Greek made him feel connected to his past, and he felt classical languages were sexy.
He got along well with the other rich kids growing up, and discovered the joys of sexual attraction at a young age. He knew he was bisexual right from the start, and had a brief but intense crisis of masculinity, which he relied heavily on his close friends to resolve. Perhaps as a result of his initial, intense shame over his explorations with other boys, he came to realize that secrecy and subtlety turned him on. He naturally hid his relationships from nearly everyone, but he got in the habit of detailing his every exploit to his closest friends, and continues to do so to this day. Eventually he came to see himself as a sort of connoisseur of people, sampling men and women as one might try varieties of white and red wine.
OCCUPATION:
Nicky is a recent graduate of Rochester University. Although he's being groomed to eventually take over the family business ventures and inherit the offshore accounts, he doesn't currently do anything. His father placed him in a position within the shipping company just under a year ago, and Nicky immediately delegated all of his responsibilities to his various underlings. He spends about four hours a week at the office. So far he doesn't think anyone has told on him.
When he isn't at work, Nicky can be found napping on the beach, or brunching late on the veranda at Alexandria. He also secretly enjoys reading classical literature in its original language. He's currently reading The Iliad in ancient Greek, but he would prefer that his friends never discover the fact that he's continued his scholarly pursuits beyond college.
PERSONALITY:
Nicky is primarily a tactile person. He enjoys the feel of wealth on his skin. He sleeps on Egyptian cotton sheets, owns several high-quality Cashmere bathrobes, and refuses to be in the same room as synthetic materials or silver jewelry. His need to touch extends to his interpersonal relationships as well. In conversation, he touches those he feels close to freely and automatically.
He has an especial affinity for jewelry. He has amassed an enormous collection of precious gems and stones, much of which he has never worn. He enjoys giving it away almost as much as collecting it and wearing it himself, and so he lavishes expensive trinkets on his friends and exploits.
He also collects rare books, although these he guards jealously. He keeps them in a trunk under his bed, touching them only while wearing gloves to avoid ruining their pages with the oil from his skin. He hides them under a layer of issues of Penthouse magazine as a final security measure against their discovery. In actuality he has no interest in pornography, but he has a reputation to preserve. Nick's enjoyment of sex is so wrapped up in the sensory experience of another person's body that he finds photographs alone severely lacking.
Because Nick grew up steeped in his family's history, he is proud of the fact that he is descended from royalty, and enjoys reminding people of this fact. He holds no title these days, but feels entitled to be treated as royalty all the same. He's sensitive to any slight, real or imagined, and will hold a grudge disproportionate to what actually occurred. Although he partakes of carnal pleasure freely among those he considers his peers, Nick refuses to associate with those he deems beneath him, generally due to birth, lack of money, or aesthetic failure. He has never been in a relationship. Frankly, the thought has never crossed his mind.
When he's alone, Nick is much more reserved and studious. He was gifted with an intelligent mind, but he's easily overstimulated when in the company of others. When he spends too much time alone, however, he grows irritable and lethargic, so these quiet moments of solitude are few and far between. His favorite activity to do by himself is watching meteor showers through the attic skylight. He's put a telescope up there for that express purpose. He thinks that in another life, he might have liked to be a philosopher, lying under a fig tree and being fed grapes by toga-clad women and ephebes while pontificating on the meaning of existence.
GOALS:
Nicky is remarkably deficient in ambition. All he desires from life is the wealth and social position to which he feels entitled, an endless stream of secret affairs, and a soft, sandy beach on which to laze in the warm sun.
