IJ/GJ name:qotc *Other*-journaling site name: jessicaqueen on LJ. I've mainly migrated to IJ, though. Your age: 21 For friending purposes, does age matter to you?: Well, nothing on my journal is f-locked, so I don't go through and check ages of my friends. Having said that, I think I'd feel wrong knowing that someone who was underage had friended me, because at least half my fics are of high ratings. I know how well I avoided NC-17 things when I was under 18. ;-) How you participate in fandom (writer/artist/beta/icon maker/vidder/lurker/official wearer of slinky red knickers): I'm a slash writer and I occassionally write meta and general observations about fandom-ish things, but mostly I'm a reader at heart. I try to review (and occassionally rec) as many fics as is possible for my poor overwrought brain. Reading is, quite frankly, what drives me. And while I would love to be the official wearer of slinky red knickers, red is really not my colour. Alas. Favorite HP characters/pairings: I have no OTP. I need no OTP. Not when there are so many wonderful and unique pairings out there. Generally, though, I lean towards pairings that include Harry and/or Remus. With very few exceptions, I'm a slasher. I've written maybe five short het fics in all my time in fandom. I have yet to write femmeslash (though I did write a fic with a f/f/m pairing), but that's just because the right idea hasn't come along. My general aversion to het and femmeslash is mainly because there are very few female characters in the HP universe that I really like and want to explore. Least favorite characters/pairings: Anything including Ron Weasley, really. That boy should be sexless, as far as I'm concerned. That's about the extent of my pairing phobias. However, an extremely-rare-character/extremely-rare-character pairing is unlikely to strike my fancy. While I like rarepairs quite a bit (hell, my favourite of my own fics is a Remus Lupin/Florean Fortescue novella), I generally want one of the characters in the pairing to be somewhat important in canon. Favorite book from HP canon: I think very few people will share this opinion, but until recently it was OotP. CASPSLOCK!Harry was annoying as all hell, but overall the book was just the kind of emotional rollercoaster that I love. Furthermore, unlike the most recent two books, OotP kept me guessing. I love that. Upon the release of DH, I decided that it was my favourite (because man, dystopia much? I loved the hopelessness of it all). However, I've only read DH once, and I happen to be a very fickle being. Upon revisiting it, the glaring plotholes will likely throw me off and the top spot will go right back to OotP. Other fandoms that you dig: There's quite a few, really. Supernatural, Firefly, House M.D., Sherlock Holmes, Star Wars, Buffy and Lord of the Rings, to name a few. I've also written a fic for Pirates of the Carribean, though I don't really follow that fandom. However, Harry Potter is by far the fandom I'm most involved in. What can I say? It was my first love. Anything else you want us to know?: What else could there possibly be for you to know? My life is fandom. What little exists of my real life will only very rarely earn even a mention in my journal (it's all monotonous uni and work, anyway). If pressed, I'd warned people potentially heading over to my journal that a lot of my fic is of a dark sort of nature and may include a number of kinks such as non-con, etc. Also, the characters in my smutty fics will always be 16 years old or above (it's illegal for me to read/write otherwise), but I know that for some people the law is 18+, so beware.
