She'd gotten a lot of comments over the years about her job, including some that even looked down on her because of it - though normally those of the male persuasion had a million questions, and just as many ideas popping into their heads. His comment was nothing out of the ordinary, and ordinarily she just brushed them off.. But since he was attractive and was also in possession of a journal, there was no harm in keeping him intrigued. "Wouldn't you like to know," she commented quietly with playful smirk. Sure it was kind of mean to start stringing him along, but he seemed like a decent (maybe just a little rough around the edges) guy, and making a friend in Greece helped.
"Very nice," she said in response to him having surfed before. "And you know what? Being happy and doing what you love is the only thing that's important. If you can wake up every day and say that you honestly love your job, it's all that matters," she told him with a shrug. At least, that was her opinion.
Astrid took another drink before uncrossing and re-crossing her legs, accidentally bumping his knee with her heel. "Oh I'm sorry," she insisted, though she really doubted that it hurt him. It was practically a nudge. "And to be honest I thought it was a gift from the hotel at first. It's so strange, and they're all interconnected?
