His words matched her feelings completely. Part of why she'd been so scared he wouldn't come. But he had, and if his body language wasn't a lie, he always would.
She took the implicit invitation, scooting close to him and laying her head on his shoulder with a small smile on her face. She felt safe and content with him, and she hoped that this would become a common feeling. She wondered how long she should wait to broach that topic. As he said, it certainly didn't feel like a first date. At least not to her. But then, she knew men were weird about that sort of thing.
"Good," she said instead. "Busy. Practice was grueling yesterday, although we took a fairly light day today. We have another game this weekend, and so we spent time watching video instead of drilling for hours on end. Which is just as well, since I it means I still have SOME energy for our date tonight." She turned her face to look up at him and gave him a teasing wink as the fingers of the hand on his leg stroked lightly over the inner seam of his jeans.
