In her past, Taryn had dealt with one too many cheating boyfriends, and wasn't about to chalk him up as another one. She yearned for someone with which she had the sort of connection she had with this 'Dylan' character, while also being able to trust them.
Was that even a possibility?
“I would say likewise, but I'm just in it for the free lunch,” she responded, a teasing grin dancing across her lips as she buried her nose in the menu. She had no idea what she wanted to eat, and the waiter was looking their way expectantly.
When the waiter returned to them, requesting their orders, Taryn glanced up at Dylan questioningly. She still didn't know what sounded best, but she supposed that Dylan was trustworthy enough when it came to ordering food. “I'll take the same as him,” she chirped as she handed over the menu, glancing at the glass of water sitting in front of her for a moment. “Oh, can I also get a Midori Sour, please? I'll need a drink with this company...”
It wasn't one hundred percent apparent if Taryn was joking or not, but either way that Dylan took it she would be pleased. His anger excited her, while any kindness he extended her way warmed her. He really couldn't lose.
