As she settled her gaze on him she realized how poor of an idea it was, how he seemed capable of taking her breath away no matter how much of a jerk and a womanizer he might be. There was something so painfully familiar about him, something that made her hand itch to reach up and stroke the stubble collecting on his jaw. Something that made her want to ignore his ways and love him anyways...
Love? There must be something in the water in Athens, because Taryn didn't just throw that word around. Especially not for handsome, womanizing men who probably had an ego that was bigger than all of Athens.
Banishing that thought from her mind, Taryn flicked her gaze from Dylan to the fish that still lingered close to the glass in hopes that she might lift her hand again. She yearned to fix her shirt self-consciously, but she refused to give in to that temptation. Refused to appear nervous in front of this stupid man that affected her in ways no other man had.
Her eyes returned to Dylan as he puffed out his chest like a young boy attempting to appear tough in front of a girl he had a crush on. “The local tour,” she mocked, lowering her voice in attempt to match his tone. She had, in fact, been rather interested in this “local tour.” Until, that is, he fed her another line from his playboy book of 'lines women like to hear.'
She curled her lip at him, glaring half-heartedly. Any other man would not be as lucky as Dylan was getting right now, because any other man wouldn't have been able to finish his first womanizing sentence before Taryn disregarded them. But there was a pull between the two of them, a pull that had absolutely nothing to do with his personality, that was pushing Taryn to say yes to his offer...
“I have to get back to my brother later today. But I suppose wasting a few hours on you won't be the worst decision I've ever made.”
