Around 9.00PM at the end of dinner on Saturday, the Carrows stood by the doors of the Great Hall with their list of students who had failed the werewolf identification task last week. As each of these students came near the doors, they were taken aside from Filch or one of the larger non-NEWT students who were on the Carrows' side and had their wands away. Once the group was assembled, they were escorted -- by force or the Imperius Curse if necessary -- into the middle of the Forbidden Forest. It was pitch black outside, with the only light being from the Carrows' wands. Once fairly deep (as far as they could tell) in the Forbidden Forest, everyone was made to sit down -- again, with force or the Imperius Curse if they had to do it -- and the Carrows used their wands to draw a circular perimeter around the group. The students were told that they would not be able to leave the circle -- if anyone tried, they would have found themselves being blasted backwards -- but things would be able to go in. The Carrows then cackled and left them sitting there in complete darkness and relative coldness. During the night, there would have been a lot of spooky and threatening noises heard -- things like owls, insects, centaurs stomping by, wolves howling (although a very sharp student may realise that it's not the full moon and there are no wolves in Britain...), etc. -- and several small woodland animals accidentally wandered into the circle and either crawled on people or were thrown onto them squealing when they tried to wander outside the circle again. At one point, it sounded like Hagrid was running around looking for them and some students may have seen his light, but it seemed to wander away from them shortly, leaving them in pitch black darkness again. Students were left there all night until 8.00AM on Sunday morning. The Carrows went to get them then and removed the circle spell. By the time they were allowed into the Great Hall, any warm breakfast foods were cold. If you character was one of the ones listed above as having got the test wrong, please respond to this entry describing what they did. Please do NOT write journal entries for them from this point on until it's past 8.00AM EST on Sunday, as it wouldn't make any sense for them to be writing when it was completely dark outside. |
