At first, Raleigh hadn't even thought a thing about being stuck in his Drivesuit. It was comfortable, clung to him like a second skin because it was. The suit had been more of a comfort than any housing building, any regulation room Raleigh had ever spent the night in. Gipsy Danger was his home (very past tense, since not only was she missing from this world entirely, but she had been the nuke that closed The Breach in the end -- he tried not to think of that too much, really) and his Drivesuit was his connection to her, so it was only natural that he be comfortable in it. Still, there was a like between comfortable and literally living in the suit. Which it really, really wasn't made for. It moved well, had to for what it was made for, and breathed well enough to keep him from sweating and chafing at whatnot, but it was hell to try and sleep in. Not to mention the fact that the cup plate was damn near impossible to remove without dismantling the whole suit, and Raleigh hadn't been exaggerating when he'd mentioned he wasn't exactly qualified for that. At all. Sure, it probably wasn't all that complicated if he had the right tools to remove the armour plating, but those tools were stuck back in his world. A decidedly more technologically advanced world than he was in at that moment. Not only that, though, but he would have to take the suit off himself, and while he was flexible, there wasn't anyway anyone could be that bendy. It was both a last ditch effort and first line option to ask for help from an outside source. It was only luck that had him conversing with Pepper Potts, and only further coincidence that had miss Potts actually knowing someone who could possible help him. Raleigh would have been an idiot not to jump at the chance to get out of his Drivesuit, and really at that point he didn't care if he had to be chiseled out of the damn thing as long as he could take a piss and a nice, long, scalding hot shower. Really, Raleigh thought to himself as he strode confidently into the lounge, he hoped it wouldn't come to that. It wasn't his original by any means, but it was a link to his world and the only thing he had. It wouldn't do to have it destroyed right after it survived the supposed end of the world and subsequent disposal into another. Seating himself at the bar to wait for his companion for the evening, Raleigh decided to make sure this Stark fella was as careful as possible in removing the armour. |
