Caroline Forbes, Elena Gilbert & OTA; The Party; 7pm
It was the hardest thing in the world not to think about, but Elena would admit freely that she never stopped thinking about her friend. She never stopped thinking about Bonnie. Even in a completely different state, in the city that never stopped moving and going, that was the essence and definition of fun and freedom, Bonnie was always on her mind. The party and possibility of answers was enough to occupy her mind; a mind in desperate need of occupation and she eagerly took up the task of finding a costume and making an appearance. She had a feeling Caroline had thought the exact same thing. Yes, there would be answers, but right now, she was probably hoping to have a little fun too. Besides, it was Caroline; parties were impossible for her to ignore or avoid.
"I think you have me beat in the costume department, Care," she replied. The costume was extremely beautiful, colored light blue and white, and it was identical to the one Cinderella wore in the Disney movie. She really looked like a princess. "It's beautiful. You look beautiful," she raised her glass to playfully tap her friend's. "Here is to dressing like Disney princesses. At least we look the part." The story line? They were not even close. Happy endings never seemed to be in either of their cards. The brunette took a sip of her drink. "I wasn't sure you were going to be here either, but I guess we both need this." It didn't really matter; Elena still found herself looking for Bonnie in the numerous faces decorating the crowd growing around here. Except for photos, she'd never see her best friend again. Never hug her. In response, a lump started to form in Elena's throat and she quickly swallowed, allowing herself a now necessary breath. If she let herself think too much, she'd lose it right here in the middle of ballroom.
Thankfully, she had Caroline and the other young woman's words pulled her back from her rather dark, depressing thoughts. The brunette nodded in agreement. "Me too. There has to be a way," she replied, brown eyes darting around the room, but no, there was no miraculous door opening to the other side, to Mystic Falls or anywhere else. It was just a DJ, drinks, and dancing. The last comment prompted a real smile from the other vampire and she nodded. "I think the day you resist a party is the day the world ends. I think it would have to be literally," she laughed. Caroline loved parties, even if she hadn't had a hand in planning them. "I think you could have totally kicked their ass though in the party planning department." Elena finished the rest of her drink and slid it on to the same table as Caroline. Before she could initiate the hug, Caroline already had her engulfed in her arms and Elena returned it equally tight. Caroline and her were all each other had; now, more than ever before, Elena was protective of her friend. If something happened to the blond, she'd break completely.
"So do you. Like a princess. Tyler should kick his own ass for not being here," she added with another smile.
