The weather was turning colder, not that she minded, just meant no more running outdoors every day till it got warmer. She was a little cold as she came in the lobby, rolling her shoulders, Val was not use to how low tech everything was, it was just like living in the past, all the things she had heard about. She knew one thing, Rudy would hate this place.

As she was walking to the elevators, she thought she saw John, but couldn't be, could it? But by the time she moved through a few people, he was gone. Val thought she was losing her mind, of all people, she'd like to see John, no doubt in that, but she shook it off as just the crush she was harboring on him and wishful thinking.

She got a shower, changed into jeans and a long sleeve shirt, made her way to one of the many restaurants in the area. Decided she wanted something simple with a beer, she went into the Sports Book Grill, ordered a club sandwhich and a beer. As she waited for her sandwich, she looked around and then spotted John again, he had to be real if he was sitting right there! She grabbed her sandwich and her beer, then paused ordered another beer.

Val headed over there, "So seems I'm not alone anymore," she quipped as she sat the bottle down in front of him and then her food and bottle down with a smile as she greeted him, "Hello Detective Kennex!"
