"A few months," came the quick, vague answer. A few months that had seemed like an eternity, like he had never necessarily arrived nor left this place. It was an odd sensation, not unlike the deja vu he kept experiencing around certain people, like Richard in front of him at that moment. The man was certainly giving Max the idea that odd things had occurred to him as well, concerning their mutual living space, and instantly Max wanted to know what. Of course, there was always the issue of Richard not wanting to explain or revisit such memories, and though Max had usually been labeled something of a social reject, he had enough manners to know when something would be considered rude.
"I haven't had a chance to experience the elevator breaking down, myself, but I've heard horror stories. I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed and not jinx myself.
"Otherwise, sometimes I wonder if this place is worth the money." He really couldn't be saying much on that topic, considering that it was his sister who paid the rent, but it was having a toll on both of them regardless. And maybe his suggestion would bring out more thoughts from Richard; Max wasn't going to bet on it, really, but a shot in the dark was better than no shot at all. Mentally he went over the list of people he knew, trying to place how he seemed to know these people - Lucy, Alex, Richard - but nothing came to mind, not even in his night time adventures as something of a mock super hero. Not being able to remember was intensely frustrating.
