"Beer's good. Beer and whiskey. Food of the gods." Victor chuckled a bit, but even as he said it, something in his stomach turned a little. Not in a sickening way, but as if someone else had been let in on the joke, and it wasn't him. And it wasn't Sean, either.
He sat next to the man at the bar, settling in easily. Vanessa worked here, he recalled, but as he gazed down the bar, he didn't see her. He couldn't recall what nights she had on and what nights she didn't, so maybe she was working her other job tonight. Oh well. He'd have to tell her he'd stopped by. Or maybe not - as he hadn't invited her. Not that... he should have? Right? Gah, too much thinking about things he didn't (or at least shouldn't) be thinking so hard about at the moment.
Sean's question brought him back to the present, though it didn't really help him stray much from his present line of thinking. "Like, past lives, you mean? Or just that you get along really well?" Either way... he'd been feeling a lot of... both. Or either, or... well, something, lately.
"Uh, I guess so. Yeah. I don't know if I completely buy in to the past life stuff, but..." But... Victor hesitated. "I guess that you can just click with another person, yeah. Some people just work, right?"
