He laughed - a gravelly sort of sound, but soothing in a way. It was something akin to a fond, unspoken 'you silly girl,' and he let that linger as he went back into the kitchen and returned with two bottles of water. One he opened with a grand flourish and poured into the cup of ice. Refreshing!
"Tell you horrible, boring stories until you fall asleep, of course," Pierce said, opening up his own bottle of water. "About how when I was your age, we didn't even have automatic flushing toilets. And we had Flintstones cars that we used to get around."
