Iris really hadn't wanted to go out this Halloween, and normally she would have stayed at home in her pajamas watching television, as much as she happened to adore the holiday, but this year, she found her waiting at a bus stop at 1:00 a.m. There had been been a zombie movie marathon at one of the local theaters, and if it was one thing that would get her out of the apartment, it was Shaun of the Dead and The Evil Dead. Still figuring out the Newport Bus system, Iris had transferred buses once before this and was starting to get frustrated. Everything seemed to be more complicated than usual tonight, and she was about to give up and call a cab. Why on earth hadn't she just driven to the downtown movie theater and fought for parking?
When Iris heard her name, she instantly lifted her head up and looked around to see who called her name. When she saw that it was Richard, she smiled, relieved to see a familiar face in the chaos of this night. However when she looked upon him, she could tell that something was clearly different. Iris opened her mouth to begin to ask him what one earth he was doing downtown at 1 a.m., nowhere near the party at Casket, but she never got the chance. Melinoe instantly came out and tilted her head sideways at the figure in front of her. Half of her skin had turned ghostly white, shining under the bus stop lamp, while the other half of her body turned as black as the night, even her lips had changed shade. Iris's cloudy greyish blue eyes were a stark contrast, especially against the black portion of her body. Iris had put on a comfortable ankle length jersey knit skirt, a white tee-shirt and a black hoodie, Melinoe saw no reason to change her clothing as it was fairly comfortable. Her eyes widened and she tilted her head, looking at the person in front of her, Richard according to Iris. Melinoe was quite frightful, and there was definitely an eerie quality to her, especially as she simply looked at Richard for a moment or two. "Yes?"
