Re: Back at the Bar (Nathaniel)
"That was my plan," Nathaniel replied gently. "To take it slow and leave it to her when we would proceed a step further. However, maybe I misjudged what she wanted. I had assumed she would appreciate a chaste kiss but it appears I was wrong."
Nathaniel sighed and stared at the collection of liquor bottles behind the bar as he turned over the events in his mind. Julian's final advice brought Nathaniel back to the present and he swallowed more of his gin and tonic before looking at the man again. "This would be our third date. We've, of course, seen one another in passing. She actually lives next door to me in Pax...but we've only gone out as a couple on a date twice. So...I suppose for our third date a quiet event would do. I was considering taking her to see a play. This might have been a little too rebellious for a second date. Some of the karaoke singers have been horrible, Juliet didn't seem to quite enjoy that aspect, the last woman on the stage didn't seem quite in tune. But that's pretty natural when you have people singing karaoke, isn't it?"
Nathaniel laughed, smiling at Julian to see if he appreciated the humor of the singers. "I do believe once Juliet and I are more comfortable around one another coming back to your club for drinks and karaoke might be in the order, but I feel we're too nervous around one another to enjoy this environment completely at the moment...which seems obvious with the spilt drink." As quickly as his smile appeared, it vanished as Nathaniel frowned again.
